Services

Sunday morning worship will currently take place at 9.30 am in the West Kirk for a trial period through April, May and June 2025; and 11.15 am at Polbeth Harwood Church.  Members regularly participate in the readings and lead prayers.

Communion is celebrated in both congregations 4 times a year on the first Sundays of March, June, September and December normally at  09.45am and at 11.5am. With an initial trial of service time at West Kirk  of 9.30am during April, May and June of 2025, the Communion service on 1st June 2025 will commence there at 9.30am. Home communion is available to the housebound.

Hymns are chosen from the Church Hymnary (CH4), Mission Praise and Junior Praise and the words of all hymns are displayed on monitors.

A regular car service operates in both congregations for any requiring transport to and from morning worship and ad hoc arrangements are made for other services and social events.

Crèche facilities, under the supervision of approved volunteers, are available for morning worship.

Tea and coffee are served in the hall after the Sunday service at the West Kirk and after the service in the cafe area at Polbeth Harwood.

Every month, except in July and August, short informal services of praise, prayer and meditation are held in local sheltered accommodation on the second Thursday of the month: 1.45pm at Dickson Court and 3pm at Burngrange Care Home in West Calder. These are conducted by members of the worship group. There is also a monthly afternoon reflective service held once a month on a Wednesday at 3.30pm in Polbeth Harwood Church.

Special additional services are held at both Christmas and Easter and an annual Bereavement Service.
