Following the joint service held at Polbeth Harwood on Sunday 18th August, the JAM Cub will be offering hot rolls of bacon or sausage to the congregation rather than the usual biscuits with the tea and coffee. For a modest cost - the proceeds of which go to JAM Club funds - members of the congregation can have a light lunch before going off to enjoy the remainder of their day. See you there!

With just over a week to launch we are in the fantastic position of a very full house!

We have less than 8 seats still available for our first ever production.............."SHOWSTOPPERS"

So, if you want to secure your place you will have to be fast!...very fast!

Our week will commence with a wee hint of what we have planned during our Sunday morning worship on August 4th in Polbeth Harwood  Church. This is a joint service and it will start at 10am. I hear we have a surprise visitor for the children that morning? We would like to extend a very warm welcome to one and all, regardless of age.

Then on Monday August 5th the doors will open at 9.50am to give a little extra time for everyone to get in and settled on the first morning at the club.

We are looking forward to warmly welcoming all our guests!

Holiday Club Update

It’s now only 14 days till the start of the Holiday Club.

Preparations are nearly complete for all the games, drama, stories, crafts and fun which will take place with the kids during the week. A lot of work has been going on in the background.

There will be a final training session for all volunteers on Thursday 1st August at 7pm at Polbeth Harwood.

Anyone who is available on Saturday 3rd August is urged to come along to Polbeth Harwood from 10.00am onwards to help “set the stage” and get the theatre ready.                                                                                                                                                                                        The congregation at the service on 4th August will be able to have a preview of the theatre décor!

Donations of baking would also be welcome for the grand finale to be held on the friday evening, 9th August at 7pm at Polbeth.  Offers should be made to Lorna Graham, Aileen Hull, Marian Kinsman or Liz Dyer.

AND everyone is invited along to the grand finale to sample the range of activities enjoyed during the week.

A71 Road Resurfacing - West Calder and Polbeth

  • 30 June 2013

Crucial carriageway resurfacing works on the busy A71 West Calder to Polbeth road are due to start on Monday 1 July 2013.

The major project is expected to be completed on Friday 2 August and disruption to motorists is inevitable.  Motorists are being advised that the road will be closed for the duration of the works and diversions will be in place.  Pedestrians will not be affected.

The Council’s public transport team have worked with local bus service providers to ensure services continue with minimum disruption.  Passengers shouldn’t have to walk any further distance to access a bus as a result of the resurfacing.

For more information on the project, including diversion maps and information on public transport visit the Council's website.
