LENT BIBLE STUDY

Andre will be presenting a Lent Bible Study for 6 weeks – and this started on the 17th of February 2021. This will take place over ZOOM every Thursday evening at 7pm. If you can’t make the ZOOM meeting, a video clip of the Bible Study will be shared on our website and Facebooks pages every Friday. Please register at AGroenewald@churchofscotland.org.uk to receive the ZOOM link and the “video clip” to be discussed at the ZOOM Bible Study session. We will explore the Passion of Jesus through the lens of Trauma. The Bible study will be co-presented by two colleagues from Utrecht and a few members of their congregation will join us too.

Moderator's Holy Week Reflections

Though the First Minister has now indicated there can be limited church openings for Easter, we can be sure that serious restrictions will remain in place.  Though it’s inevitable, and perhaps for the best, some of us will be disappointed that Easter this year will not be markedly different to how it was last year.

But devotional patterns can certainly continue and to that end Rt Revd Dr Martin Fair, Moderator of the General Assembly, is going to offer a series of daily reflections running from Palm Sunday, 28th March, to Easter Sunday , 4th April.  These will be available through the Church of Scotland social media channels (web site www.churchofscotland.org.uk ) and will be released each morning at 8am. Text versions will also be available for local printing if desired and non-digital folk will be able to access them via phone:  0333 340 9200.

Each episode will include readings, prayers, reflections and music; with ministers, deacons, elders and others from across the Church taking part.

The Moderator's hope is that these daily reflections will remind us of our essential unity and that we belong to a body of believers which stretches beyond our parish boundaries.
