As our congregations take on an agreed new organisational structure to undertake the mission and business in our charge, we welcome new Session Clerks to both congregations.

Following the death of Stewart MacRae, Alison McNaught has been appointed Session Clerk at West Kirk and, after many years of service in the role, Marian Kinsman has retired and Tom Griffin has been appointed at Polbeth Harwood.

Along with our congratulations to both, we offer them our wholehearted support in the new challenges ahead and wish them every blessing.

A Message From Our Minister: October 2023

Dear friends

It’s harvest time – time to say thank you to God for everything he gives us.

In 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 we read: “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

This is an explanation of how we can thank God: He gives us what we need, and in sharing that with others, we give thanks to him.

Sharing is such a special thing to do. If you share what you have with someone else, you will lose something that was yours, but at the same time, you will gain something else – joy. And joy is something that can fill you in a way food never can. There is so much more than food that we can share – we can share burdens, we can share love. And in giving these things away, we get so much more in return.

So this harvest – let’s give to others, and by doing that, give thanks to God!

May God bless you all,
